About

Why the clinic exists

As a healthcare practitioner I have a duty of care and a passion for helping people. Seeing someone walk into a clinic space, talk through their problems and their pain, and then delivering a treatment that can help — it is rewarding, and it positively influences people’s lives.

My experience in orthopaedics means I have a deep understanding of joints, muscles and soft tissues. That is what I bring to short-term injuries, long-term pain and sports recovery.

What I wanted to build was the kind of place I would want to walk into myself: somewhere that listens first, is straight with you about what it can and cannot do, and measures whether it is actually helping.

The clinic

Clean, comfortable and accommodating. You will not be rushed, and you will not be sold anything at the door.

Getting here

  • Free parking.
  • The clinic room is up a flight of stairs. There is no step-free access, and no lift. We are sorry — it is the building. If stairs are a problem for you, please ring before you book and we will talk through what we can do.

If there is anything you need us to arrange to make a visit workable, ring ahead and ask.

The equipment

We use a mobile localised cold-therapy unit with a handheld applicator, working down to −10°C, applied to one area at a time over a protective product and kept moving throughout. Mark holds the manufacturer’s approved training certificate.

There is no chamber and nothing to get into. More detail on What is Cryo Recovery Suite?

How we work

  • We assess before we sell

Nobody has a session here without being assessed by a registered practitioner first.

  • Assess, target, treat, review

The same four stages every visit, with questions welcome throughout.

  • We work to a written safety standard

Contraindications, precautions, skin checks and the decision to proceed or stop are set out in a document, not carried in someone’s head — and it is re-applied at every visit, not just the first.

  • We write things down

Every session is recorded — the area, the temperature, the time, the product and how you found it — and short reviews between visits mean progress is measured rather than remembered.

  • We will tell you if it is not working

If the record shows nothing is changing, Mark will say so and talk to you about stopping. We would rather lose the sessions than take money for something that is not helping.

  • We do not oversell

Read our evidence page and you will see us quote the studies that found nothing alongside the ones that found something.
